From the accounts
About 84,000 active UK companies filed accounts this week, and about 490 of them grew by 10 or more staff between the two years in those accounts. Both counts are rounded.
How these numbers are made
Incorporations, dissolutions, strike-off proposals and liquidations are counted from Companies House, by the day each happened, Monday to Sunday. Incorporations before the latest register snapshot come from the register itself, so older weeks slightly undercount companies dissolved since; later ones and the other three come from Companies House's live feed. Growth compares the two years in each company's latest filed accounts. This page was frozen when the edition was sent and does not change.
