The SMEs in your patch that just grew
New companies are one director and a postcode; the ones worth selling to are growing. Firmo Weekly finds them in the accounts every Monday: how many in your sectors and region added staff since their last filing, and one click to the list. Free.
What you are looking at
- Source
- The Companies House database, which publishes every change to a company's record within seconds or minutes of it being made. Firmo keeps a week of it.
- Incorporated
- A company that did not exist yesterday: first seen on the stream with a date of creation today or yesterday.
- Dissolved
- A company struck off the register or wound up and dissolved, shown on the day its status changes.
- Strike-off
- Companies House has published a proposal to strike the company off (the first Gazette notice), usually because it has stopped filing or asked to close. Companies entering liquidation are shown in the same colour and named as such.
- Where
- Each dot is placed at the centre of the registered office's postcode sector (for example M1 1, about 3,000 addresses), moved a little so dots don't stack, never at the address itself: many small companies are registered at a home. The list names only the town. Companies registered outside the UK are listed without a dot.
