Terms
Terms of service
The agreement between you and Firmo. Last updated 26 September 2026.
1. Who we are
Firmo (firmo.uk) is operated by Firmo UK, based in the United Kingdom. Contact [email protected]. Using the site means accepting these terms.
2. What Firmo does
Firmo lets you search UK companies by sector, place, status, age and size, and buy the results as a CSV file. The underlying register is published by Companies House; employee counts and turnover are read from accounts companies have filed.
Searching is free and shows how many companies match plus the first ten of them. Paid products are described on the pricing section of the home page.
3. Buying a report
- A one-off report costs £25 and contains up to 1,500 companies matching the search you chose. If your search matches more, you get the first 1,500 by company name.
- The file is emailed to the address you pay with, usually within a few minutes, so use an address you can open. For 30 days you can also download it again by signing in with that address.
- Payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy, who act as merchant of record and whose terms also apply to the transaction.
Your right to cancel. A report is digital content, made and sent as soon as you pay. Before checkout you tick a box asking us to send it straight away and confirming that you lose your right to cancel once it has been sent. If you buy as a consumer, that is when your 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 ends; if you buy for your business, that right does not apply. Until the report has been sent, you can cancel for a full refund.
4. Subscriptions
The Unlimited plan is billed monthly or yearly in advance and starts as soon as your payment is confirmed. You can cancel at any time: the plan then runs to the end of the month or year you have paid for and is not renewed. We do not refund the rest of a month or year once it has started. If you subscribe as a consumer you keep your statutory 14-day right to cancel, but because you ask for access to start at once, any refund is reduced by what you have already had, including every report you have built. You sign in with the email you subscribed with to build reports and to create API keys. "Unlimited" is subject to fair use: a daily allowance of reports per account, shared between the website and the API, which normal use will not reach.
5. Refunds and disputes
We refund a one-off report in full if:
- it does not reach you, and we cannot get it to you (by email or by download from your account) within 7 days of you telling us; or
- it is materially different from the search you bought, for example the wrong sector, region or size.
A report that was delivered as described is not refundable, including because:
- it did not lead to the sales or results you hoped for, or you no longer need it;
- you chose a different search from the one you meant to buy (the search is shown to you before you pay);
- a figure has changed since the accounts it comes from, or a company has since changed its status, name or address (every figure is dated: see section 6);
- some companies have no employee count or turnover, because they have not filed one (a blank means unknown: see section 6); or
- you have found the same companies elsewhere.
If something is wrong with a report, email [email protected] within 14 days of it being sent and we will put it right or refund it as above.
Records we keep, and payment disputes. For every order we keep a record of the search you bought; when, from which IP address and from which browser you accepted these terms; when the report was emailed and to which address; what the receiving mail server reported; a fingerprint (SHA-256) of the file; the file itself for 18 months; and each time it was downloaded. If you dispute a payment for a report that was delivered as described, with your card issuer or with Lemon Squeezy, we will give them these records to show it was supplied. Please contact us first: we would much rather sort it out with you directly.
This section does not affect your statutory rights.
6. What the data is, and is not
Firmo reports what companies have filed. We do not estimate, model or guess: where a company has filed no employee count, the field is blank and means unknown, not zero. Every figure comes with the date of the accounts it was taken from, which can be a year or more old.
The register is refreshed monthly and filings are read daily, so Firmo is not real time. We take care to be accurate, but we cannot promise the data is complete, current or fit for a particular purpose, and you should not treat it as advice or as a substitute for your own checks.
7. How you may use what you buy
The underlying public sector information is licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. What you buy from us is the work of selecting, filtering and assembling it.
You may use your exports inside your own organisation, including for your own sales and marketing. You may not resell, publish or redistribute a Firmo export as a dataset, or use it to build or train a competing company database or list product.
If you contact people using the data, you are the controller of that use and responsible for complying with UK data protection and marketing law, including UK GDPR and PECR.
8. Fair use of the service
Please do not scrape the site, automate the free search, work around the human check or the rate limits, or share access in a way designed to avoid paying. We may suspend or refuse service, without a refund for the abuse itself, where this happens.
9. Availability
We aim to keep Firmo available, but this is a small independent service and we do not offer an uptime guarantee. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and will give notice of anything that materially reduces what a paying subscriber gets.
10. Liability
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost business, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
If you are a consumer, you keep all your statutory rights.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when. Changes are not retroactive for reports already bought. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
